This class will expand the student's knowledge of how to insert new technologies and construction into an existing building shell. This course will take a practical approach of how to evaluate, classify, and diagnose construction deficiencies of existing buildings. The lessons will utilize a step-by-step approach to documenting, detailing, restoring, and preserving existing buildings. The student will understand the appropriateness of preservation, renovation, and rehabilitation. This course will take a practical approach to evaluating and diagnosing construction deficiencies in existing buildings using material science and the understanding of inherent properties of building materials.
